Summer Whites

Over the last few weeks the UK has seen some serious temperatures and it’s really starting to feel like summer here (she says as it starts to rain). I am a bit of a season extremist, so I’ve either got to be sunbathing in 40-degree heat, or wrapping up warm and venturing out into heavy snow.

The summer weather that’s hit recently seems to have had a big impact on my mood over the last month or so. Since finishing university for the summer I honestly think I’ve become a happier person. Perhaps certain events have caused me to take a step back from all the hustle and bustle and realise that actually my life is pretty fantastic. I am a cerial worrier, however I've chosen to leave that behind this summer, and just concentrate on enjoying myself.

If anyone else is looking for a quick fix to help de-stress and enjoy the summer a bit more, this is whats work for me…

Do a Little preparation for the future
I’m not saying move out or decide on wedding venues, but if you’re still in education like me, then take some time to explore the possibilities you have once you enter the big wide world of work. The realisations have finally hit me and I’ve decided what I want to do with my life post university, which in itself is an unbelievable weight off of my shoulders.

Get some routine in your life
This could be as easy as waking up and going to sleep at the same time everyday. I’m working full time at the moment, so now even my bank account is looking more positive. Although I would probably choose a job free life of luxury over a 9-5, you’ll know this if you read my Learning To 9 'Til 5 post, I do enjoy working and finally having some consistency to my days.

Plan some fun things to do so you have something to look forward to
I’ve got lots of exciting things coming up over the next few months, and one thing that keeps me motivated to go to work everyday is knowing that in a few weeks time I’ll be on holiday.

However, the most important thing that should keep you happy are the things money can’t buy
I’ve got my health, a lovely home, the most supportive family and some pretty amazing friends. What else could a girl possibly need? (apologies for the slight cliche)

Someone please remind me of this^ the next time I * NEED* a pair of shoes.
